Look at the pictures and comments above - HERE and also take a look at the previous Gig "The StoPit Barn Dance" held in the same location, 11/10/2008 - HERE.
What did you need?:
We needed volunteers to do the following things:
Two weekends before: Setup the marquee
- This includes erecting 3 very large poles, various frame poles, fitting
the roof, fitting the side panels and fixing and setting the guide ropes.
Some committee members will be loading the truck, so we need fit and willing
helpers from midday onwards at the field. Rain or shine the marquee needs
to be up on this weekend.
The weekend before: Clean and prep the BBQ
for the Hog, put up lights and run cabling, erect scaffolding for BBQ serving,
install staging for the band, clean the tent. All day from about 10am at
the field.
The Event day: Setup tables and chairs, install
bar, connect & test electrics, start & tend the Hog roast, clean and lay
tables, put up posters and direction signs. All day from about 10am at the
field.
We needed Tombola prizes, bottles only, which
went to Shirley Colby.
PLUS: We needed your friends! - pass on your poster, forward this e-mail, tell your family, friends and colleagues, post it on Facebook, Twitter it - do whatever you can to advertise this village event and guarantee we all have a great time!
